Spring is on its way, and you know what that means? SANDALS. ON. REPEAT. Excited? Us too. But after a long winter of paying zero attention to our feet, we’ve come to realize we need a little refresher on the whole pedicure routine. And you know what we found out? It’s actually pretty easy. Just follow these simple steps for a flawless look. Sandal season, here you come!

STEP 1: SOAK IT UP
Fill your bathtub up with warm water, stick those feet in, and relax for 10 minutes. Bonus points if you use some bath salts or a moisturizing body wash.

STEP 2: SMOOTH SAILING
Use an exfoliating scrub (focus on your heels) to get those babies in tiptop shape. Use a foot file and scrape away hardened cuticles if needed.

STEP 3: GET IN SHAPE
Grab your clippers and trim those toenails. Smooth them out with a nail file. And if you have a buffer, run that over each nail a couple of times too.

STEP 4: PICK YOUR POLISH
Wipe a cotton swab with nail polish remover over each nail. Then choose your favorite polish—we’ll be using this pretty purple Anise color (pick it up at your DSW store!) all season long—and paint away. Don’t forget that top coat!

STEP 5: FINISHING TOUCHES
Clean up any polish that made it’s way on your toes using a cotton swab or mani-pedi stick. Wait for your perfect pedi to dry, then slip on a gorgeous pair of flat sandals. And just like that, you’re ready for spring.
