September 29, 2014

By now, we’re sure you’re very well versed in the lace-up boot trend. And if you’re a fashionable Shoe Lover, you probably have at least one pair sitting pretty in your shoe closet. But just what do you do with that cooler-than-cool pair now that you’ve got it? Allow us to provide some outfit inspiration. Because when we got our lace-up boots, we too were a little stumped on what else to rock ’em with besides our standard jeans and a tee. Many hours (and outfits) later, we landed on these four looks: two for the gals, two for the guys!

LADIES

#1 Boots & Baubles

Timberland boots worn with…pearls and faux fur? Believe it! If you’re a fashion daredevil (who also secretly loves comfy boots), this should be a go-to look in your fall line-up. Plus, dark denim and cool aviators paired with a feminine vest and sheer top help balance out the look.

#2 Red Hot

If you’ve got a reason to wear an LRD (little red dress!), you’ve gotta go for it. Paired with cool Steve Madden booties, cozy tights, and minimal accessories, you’re perfectly dressed for a movie with the girls or a downtown date night!

Steve Madden Rubin Bootie $69.95 (Compare at $100!)

GUYS

#1 Khaki Cool

Your basic chinos-and-a-button-down look has done a 180. Mixed-material Bullboxer boots toughen up a bright shirt, along with a vintage style bomber jacket. Wear the look. Collect the compliments. (No need to thank us.)

Bullboxer Thrasos Boot $119.95 (Compare at $150!)

#2 Stripe Happy

When the weekend finally rolls around, you undoubtedly reach for your jeans. Headed to a concert? Catching a game with friends? Swap sneakers for leather boots, which give you style cred and keep you warm on cooler days. Add a striped crewneck and sunglasses, and you’re ready to rock Saturday–Sunday.
