We don’t know about you guys, but Sunday night was like, the best day ever. The Oscars were on, and we were loving every single second of it! From the fashion to the fame to the fun, it was EYE. CANDY. OVERLOAD.
So, what were our top fave trends we’ll absolutely be incorporating into our wardrobes? Here we go!
Pale blue. Smoldering sapphire. Rich navy. We couldn’t get enough of this hue! Lupita Nyong’o killed it in her Prada gown, don’t you think? If anyone deserved best-dressed it was most certainly her. And we adored Amy Adams and Sandra Bullock’s take on the color. Their dark gowns totally popped against that regal red carpet. And let’s not forget the guys. Kevin Spacey and Jason Sudeikis looked beyond dapper in their navy get-ups. Way to do the blue, fellas.
Of course we can’t talk about blue without mentioning the biggest supporter of the shade—Miss Liza Minnelli. Girlfriend even worked it into her beauty routine with an electric streak in her hair!
For us? We love the idea of a navy pump or a royal strappy sandal with silk pants, a party dress, or even rolled skinnies! Options = endless.
The shine of metallics is like the gods of fashion, calling to us and saying we need this trend pronto. And yes, we’re most certainly listening! The beauties who also got the memo? Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive, Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab, Emma Watson in Vera Wang—these stars were sparkling like whoa.
As far as the guys go? U2 rocked some metallic touches on their jacket lapels. We love that the sparkle wasn’t just limited to the ladies!
From shiny gold pumps to silver ankle straps, we’re planning to metallic-out our closets like it’s nobody’s business. Join us, won’t you?
Last but not least, we were digging the whites, nudes, and custards (according to Ryan Seacrest!) that were popping up left and right. There was best actor Matthew McConaughey in his ivory tuxedo jacket and Jared Leto in his bright white blazer. Even the woman-of-the-night Ellen had an outfit change that was head-to-toe cream.
As far as gowns go, Naomi Watts was a vision in her Calvin Klein Collection white-hot dress. And Kate Hudson? We were dying over that dramatic Versace number. Who else could get away with wearing a cape on the carpet? That gal’s really got it going on.
We’re thinking white pumps will be best friends with our boyfriend jeans and harem pants. And those ivory peep-toes are begging to be paired with a dress—gotta show off those details!
That’s all we got. Comment on what you loved most and what you’re most definitely going to copy ASAP!
